At Index Data we've been working on MkDru, a Drupal module for Pazpar2, our XML webservice based metasearch engine.
The primary application is searching one or more Z39.50 targets and having a lot of hooks into Drupal to theme it flexibly (facets as blocks for example). But you can search SOLR too, tweak the ranking, and more.

Ex Libris's Primo in Drupal
Hi :)
We (a french academic library) are using drupal for our website (http://bu.univ-angers.fr).
We're considering using now Primo from ExLibris or Summon/Serial Solutions.
And of course, the integration of that possible discovery tool into our website is an important part of our questioning
On the Summon side, I know there's a module that works (at least one french academic library is using it > see "catalogue+" there http://bibliotheque.univ-paris-diderot.fr/ ).

Does anyone have interest, insight, or thoughts about starting an xml wysiwyg editor project for Drupal?
I'm interested in possibly authoring academic research (especially science) that is created and stored natively as XML and then transformed (through XSL and XSL-FO respectively) to HTML and PDF, as well as awesome formats like ePub.
