Welcome to VANDUG!
The Vancouver Drupal Users Group is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story. We generally meet once a month (typically the 4th Thursday) on a variety of topics, both technical and non-technical. There is no cost to join the group or attend our monthly meetings.
We have a sister group in the Lower Mainland, the Surrey Drupal Users Group that meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Many people are members of both groups.
Twitter and IRC
Hey all -
Just another PSA here, to let everyone know there's now a Twitter account set up if you want to follow for meetup reminders, etc. at http://twitter.com/vandug. The group admins all have access to the password, and if one of us gets fancy, we'll set up some kind of hashtag retweeter system.

Volunteer: Director Web Development | Sawa World
Description & Link to Mission
Sawa World believes there is a way to end extreme poverty for billions of people on our planet. The solution lies in the minds, hands and hearts of those who suffer it most. We called them Sawa Leaders; unsung heroes who have themselves been among the one billion people living on one dollar a day or less. Their solutions are documented and shared by vulnerable, unemployed youth in their communities. (http://www.sawaworld.org/)
We are currently looking for an experienced Director of Web Development, who can continue to improve our online presence.

Drupal Sprints at Linuxfest Northwest
Linuxfest Northwest is coming back for 2013 -- the last weekend in April. After talking to some core maintainers, we thought it'd be a fun idea to do a sprint based around linuxfest northwest.
Sprinters are certainly welcome (and encouraged!) to submit a talk for LFNW, but the main goal is to get some sprinting done on Core in preparation for Drupalcon in May.
I'll also be leading a distros sprint, if people are interested. My main focus is on COD and Commons -- but if there are other distros that would like to host here, feel free.
Why Linuxfest Northwest?
