Graphic Design / Theming | Favish inc
Work is piling up on our plates lately and our top secret "drush-make shiny new website" extension hasn't panned out nearly as well as we expected. It's time to eat some crow and find someone smart enough to know what drupal is and dumb enough to cast their lot with the likes of us.
You are a talented and driven graphic designer who would like to earn a decent living working on interesting projects from local companies and larger fortune 500 clients. Your previous experience is less important than the skill and ability you can offer our team (2 people currently). We are ready and willing to train you in the art of drupal theming if you aren't familiar (template files/suggestions, preprocess hooks, performance, panel styles, etc).
You should be able to create a unique website design with a compelling voice from the wire frames guidance and specifications provided. Then ideally (though negotiable) you will be able to implement that design into a drupal theme on the built out web application. This all assumes familiarity and decent mastery of XHTML/CSS/Photoshop/Illustrator, you know the drill. Ideal candidates might also appreciate venn diagram humor, xkcd, and agree that taco deli is the undisputed best taco source before 3pm daily.
Compensation is competitive and negotiable, equity is an option if it interests you, and health insurance will keep you out of debtors prison if we ever find out that coffee and breakfast tacos are carcinogenic.
If you're interested give me a call at 512.669.5650 or send an email to michael@favish.com. I'd love to see some of your work and discuss the opportunity. Thanks, -mf

SVN Set up
Hi,
I am setting up a new Drupal site. As far as SVN goes I am looking at the best practices. how existing SVN structures have been modeled. I am thinking of just having the sites folder in the SVN but am open to suggestions. Also how did you create the branches - Split between two thoughts - One to have each release as a branch and the other create a separate branch for module / theme / scripts / files.
I am looking at various options and looking forward for some advice.
Thanks!
Austin Drupal Dojo
Weekly night to get together and work on our individual Drupal projects. It is a hack night where we work on our projects, share solutions, and do what we do in a social environment. This is an opportunity for professional networking and to see what other Drupalers are working on. Whereas we promote the sharing of information and asking questions, this is not the place to come for Drupal lessons, tutorials, or to recruit Drupal talent. There are other channels for these activities. If you are new to Drupal be sure to check out the Austin Drupal Newbie group on Meetup.com.

Drupal Study/Work group is a go! Triumph Cafe, Thu @ 7pm. IRC: #drupal-austin
Hello,
Quick note on the study/work group last night. Jeff hosted us at the Triumph cafe and it was a great success.
6 Drupalers showed up, and we had some interesting side conversations along the way ("What's with OG Forums?", "What's with hook_menu doing this?"), but most of the time we were heads down working on our stuff - which was great. Benji and I got started on a D5->D6 upgrade - yikes!
Jeff led a discussion on the venue, time, and format. I think the consensus was "This worked. Repeat. Remain fluid". So see you there next week :-)

Hi,
At the last Drupal User Group in Austin, there was talk about coders getting together to work on their own projects Thursday nights. I haven't seen anything here or in the meetup.
Is anyone else interested in meeting up on Thursdays for some quiet study/work time on Drupal projects?
If you are, let's pick a venue and do it!
Mike

Drupal 10th Anniversary iPad
This is sort of a "forsale" posting but it's of special interest to Drupal folks.
I won this specially engraved iPad at DrupalCon in Chicago (March 10th, 2011)
But I already have an iPad so I'm selling it.
It has a large, custom, Drupal 10th anniversary

WSOD on Drupal 7
I have encountered the White Screen of Death (WSOD) whenever I try to add any content on http://nullifynow.net. It is discussed at http://drupal.org/node/1089142#comment-4204372
If anyone has encountered and solved this problem I would appreciate some help.
