After our August BDUG meeting I'm even more excited about doing some kind of Idaho-based Drupal event. We did some minor brainstorming and some potential local resources were identified. Let me list out what we talked about, and add some ideas to the mix:

We've had an IRC channel going steady for the last couple of years, but just recently made it official. Now, with a shiny new channel name, approval from the Drupal IRC maintainer (chx), we're good to go. So, come visit us at #drupal-idaho, where you can connect with Idaho-based Drupal people for fun, profit and other wild and crazy things.

IRC is a live chat tool used by a lot of open source communities to collaborate and exchange support. Here's how to get hooked up:

Hi there. My name is Scott and I am not only new to drupal, but also to the whole website building thing. I am in the process of getting things figured out, but was in need of some assistance. I have a small budget at this point but am sure I could work something out with anyone interested in some part-time work. Maybe a few hours at a time or so. We've had a request to revisit which day of the month we meet on. It has been a while since we discussed this so I've setup a doodle poll so we can look at a new day of the month. The poll is for the May meeting but providing that we find a date that we like we'll probably move all future meetings. We're going to do this in two rounds so for this first round please vote for all dates you could make the meeting even if they aren't your first choice.
