This group is for Drupal developers and other interested parties to discuss Drupal development at Cornell University.
WNYDUG Meetup: Wednesday, 7/18/2012, 7:00 pm
I think it'd be great to have a physical meetup, and since Batavia is smack between Buffalo and Rochester, I'd propose that we have one right here. We have a nice coffee shop here in town, complete with outlets, so bring your iPad and/or laptop.

Drupal vocabulary - quick primer
Hi all,
I've repeatedly mentioned that the hardest part of the drupal learning curve for me was understanding the terms and vocabulary used. If you're a Drupal newbie and struggling to get your head around the terminology, the following link provides a brief and helpful overview of some key terms:

Next CU Drupal SIG meeting?
At the last meeting we suggested having the next meeting the 3 weeks later (as opposed to 2 weeks later) due to the 4th of July holiday. Are we planning to have a meeting on Thursday?
Thanks,
- Kyle

Freelance Web Developer Needed | The Picture House
We're a small nonprofit movie theater in Westchester.
We have a couple projects that we need completed ASAP in order to market an upcoming film series.
They are:
1.) We need a new Film Type Created - "Faster, Higher, Stronger: The Olympics on Screen" - similar to the Opera & Ballet link on the left on this page http://www.thepicturehouse.org/films
2.) On our home page slide show, we'd like to be able to customize the slides that play and limit it to about 4 or 5. As it is now, it automatically creates a new slide whenever we add an individual film

At our first SIG meeting it was suggested that our next meeting focus on Drupal development strategies, best practices, navigation, and site architecture. Hopefully some more experienced Drupal developers can share their experience with these topics.
Hope you can make it,
Eric
Is Drupal compatible with Microsoft Access?
I am new to Drupal and have managed to create the basic website that my client wants, but they have a MS Access database. I cannot find any information anywhere that even mentions Access in relation to Drupal. Is it possible to have forms (I have created in html) be populated with data from this Access database through msqli queries in php? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Video embedding?
What are people using to embed/manage videos in drupal 7? I have .flv files that I'm trying to embed/manage, and I've installed both "media" and "video" modules and they aren't giving me what I need. The video module looks promising, but when I use it in conjunction with jwplayer, the output looks ok, but it omits the filename at the end of the src tag.
I think I might install mediafront (its a bit more than what I need, really), but thought I'd put the question out here to see if anyone has other suggestions :)
20120531 CU Drupal SIG meeting minutes
We met May 31 in MANN B30A classroom, which seemed to work out ok, though folks in the back were a bit far away. Acoustics are good though, and having computers could be helpful for future meetings if we do working sprints. Will try next meeting there as well.

This is an unmoderated discussion group
I would like to assure everyone that this forum is open to all who would like to join, leave, or post.
For whatever reason there is a statement "post has been submitted for moderation" at the top of this group page. When I first created the group I tried the "Broadcast" feature linked in green at the top of the page. This apparently is some sort of Moderated feature.
I hope this helps!
My best,
Yamin

Drupal SIG
Folks,
This discussion is to help facilitate the formation of a Drupal SIG (special interest group). I've heard interest in a centrally run SIG (CIT run?) and also the desire for a more dispersed effort. If folks would like to offer their opinion it would certainly help us determine our need (or not) to invest staff time in organizing this effort.
Cheers,
Yamin
