BADCamp - resources for connecting with your fellow campers
We are 21 hours away from hundreds of people descending on UC Berkeley to get there Drupal on. Here are a couple of ways to connect to your fellow campers (always assuming the wireless holds out :). If you think of others, shout them out.
- The best one is probably right here at http://groups.drupal.org/bay-area
- IRC : #drupal-bayarea over at irc://irc.freenode.net/drupal-bayarea
- Twitter: I will be twittering away over at http://twitter.com/tstarbow. If you're going to tweet about BADCamp, put your account name in a comment.
- Facebook: I am a complete Facebook noob, but what the heck, I created a BADCamp group. This link might take you there http://www.facebook.com/p.php?i=667832827&k=X2M64XP2326M51B1YD6YY3
What else?
BADCamp Session Proposal Deadline: Sept 25th
Please submit your BADCamp session proposals by Thursday, Sept 25th (http://www.badcamp.net/node/add/session). We want to have enough time for attendees to vote their preferences, and then let the presenters know their time slots by the end of next week.
We will have a Birds of a Feather room available for sessions that don't get slotted in the official schedule.
BADCamp08 Planning Meeting
We'll be meeting this Sunday, the 17th from 2:00p to 4:00p at Au Coquelet in Berkeley -
2000 University Ave
Berkeley, CA 94704
Planning BADCamp08
Folks,
After talking with Tao at the last meeting I'm going to go ahead and start pulling together all the people who are interested in helping with our Fall BADCamp. First thing I'm going to do is make a round and talk to all those who helped with the last one and those who have already expressed an interest in helping out this time around. After that I'll likely schedule an organizational meeting so we can all get in the same room to work out details. Please stay posted here for more info as it develops. Please feel free to be in touch if you have any questions, either on- or off-line.
Regards,
Dan
BADCamp 07 - Wrapup

A particularly big shout out to Dan Robinson, Chris Bryant, Peter Atkins and Jen Lampton for putting in the time beforehand and during the camp, to OpenCircle and Sun for the fabulous Saturday night party, and to Jasper for everything.

Bay Area Drupal Camp: November 3rd and 4th 2007

Bay Area Drupalers unite! BADCamp is taking place on November 3 and 4th, 2007 at the UC Berkley campus. Following in the tradition of DrupalCampNY, DrupalCampLA and the original BarCamps this is a fun, free, open event where everyone is encouraged to participate, share and learn together.
There are currently 200 registered attendees and 36 proposed sessions (Note: the session proposal period ends Sunday the 21st). There will be presentations, open table discussions, lightning talks and more ranging from Getting started - planning and maintence overview by Steven Peck, Discussion about Usability by Neil Drum, to Performance and Caching with Drupal by Steve Rude and much more!
Update: Six weeks after we opened registration, and after two capacity increases, we are maxed out with 200 attendees. Promises to be a grand time.
Signup module for dug events and drupalcamps
There was some talk at the Seattle Dug about helping out with signup module so that it would be compatible with things going on here on g.d.o (so that it could be used for signups to dug events)
there is post over here about the todo list for the signup module http://groups.drupal.org/node/5044
maybe the upcoming la drupal camp, or berkeley camp or an associated user group (or the Seattle DUG) would be able to contribute some to the signup module?
