The ESIP Federation (http://esipfed.org) is a virtual organization of more than 100 earth science information providers, including the large NASA and NOAA data archives, several federal laboratories, university projects, and private and non-profit corporations. Many of these members are turning to Drupal as the framework to share content and data.
The ESIP Federation has a Drupal Working Group (DruWG) where Drupal knowledge and issues are shared internally. This external group is where we connect with external organizations interested in the Earth Sciences and share our knowledge with the broader Drupal community. Our goal is to support active discussions about using the Drupal framework to support large-scale government agency websites and data sharing in the Earth Sciences sector.
ESIP Summer Drupal Lab in Chapel Hill NC
The Details of the meeting are on the ESIP Commons (Event URL)... We will have a set of demonstrations from NASA and NOAA Drupal web developers and a special guest: Angie Byron (webchick), who will be talking about Drupal 8 and then getting into discussions in the afternoon unconference.
We invite all local Drupalistas to join in! The Friend Center at UNC charges us $70 per day per person... so we have to pass along a one day fee ($70) to people who are not registered for the main ESIP meeting.
THERE will be remote participation (live streaming and some interactivity).
Initial NASA ECHO integration demo at Drupacamp Atlanta

The slides are on slideshare (http://goo.gl/gHdGw) and I'll post up the video when its available (in around a month)

Science on Drupal session at Badcamp
Looking for input as to what people want to explore at the Badcamp session, Science on Drupal. What is your vision for doing science using Drupal? What successes have you had? What problems do you face? We can build a new platform for Science 2.0 using Drupal and collective passion.
If you will be a Badcamp 2012, you can add your comments to the session: http://2012.badcamp.net/program/sessions/science-drupal
Hope to see you in Berkeley, or to see your comments below. We will do our best to address them.
