I'm pretty excited to announce that Lullabot Training is coming to my hometown! We'll be doing a week of workshops at The Drake June 9th-13th. Come learn all the tips, tricks and techniques from me, Addison Berry, Jeff Robbins and Matt Westgate

The first half of the week, we will be doing a Drupal Intensive - our crash course in how Drupal works, administration best practices and building sites with CCK & Views. The last half of the week we will cover Drupal APIs and Module Development. As always, if you sign up for both workshops we'll give you a discount.

Based on the discussion thread and chatting with a couple of folks offline, I think we might as well set a date! With 16 of us (and more to come, surely!), it is unlikely we will find a date and place that works perfectly for everyone, but I suggest we start with this (second Thursday of the month) and see how it goes.

A wonderful thing happened today, I reached out to a community and they welcomed me!

Now just a few short hours later after my first post, I am confident that not only will I be able to have a beer with a few Drupal guys in Ames but it is likely that there is enough interest that a regular monthly meeting is possible. This rocks!

- how to build a single-user blog
- how to incorporate video on the home page
- how to create a custom home page that leads into Drupal
- how to set up a photo gallery
- site optimization and unique meta tags for content pages in Drupal

Everyone is welcome to attend the Surrey Drupal Users Group. Our focus will be Drupal 101 topics.

We're throwing an office expansion/foosball party after work on Thursday and we wanted to invite the DC Drupal community to join us. We'll be serving beer and snacks, and playing several highly competitive rounds of foosball. Of course in between all that, we'll be talking about what we're all working on and new tech developments that have caught our eye. We're hoping that some old friends and new faces from around the city come out.

We'll crack open the first beers around 6:30 pm on Thursday, and the first game will start around 7:00 pm. You can find more information and directions to our office here.
