Hamilton and Niagara

An alternative to the Toronto group for developers in the Hamilton / Burlington / Niagara areas. Hopefully we can organize meetups and events closer to home than the far-flung Toronto meetups.

Hamilton Public Library launches MyHamilton.ca

This looks like a great project. If anyone knows the developers or someone who is involved with the site, then a meetup around the site would be a great way to get everyone together.

So how's things in Hamilton and Niagara?

Hi all. It's been an exciting time for Drupal in Niagara, of all places. We now have a good core of Drupal professionals that are interested in meeting, and are doing so on a regular basis.

So I wanted to ask: how's everyone else doing? Is there interest in a meetup of some kind for the larger group.

If Hamilton people would like to come down to Niagara and enjoy some Drupal and some of the world's best wine, well then just let us know.

Hi all.

As discussed at the last Toronto DUG, the Waterloo Region Drupal group is ready to go! We have a venue and a date, now all we need is you. Join us for our inaugural meeting. Our Waterloo Region meetings will be a wonderful addition to your regular Toronto DUG schedule.

Anyone want to take over as manager?

Hello.

Come April, I will be moving away from Hamilton to the Ottawa region. Does anyone want to take over management of this group?

I think there are enough people subscribed to this group that it could begin rolling as a 'proper' Drupal group with meetups / workshops / events etc.

A New Drupal Book to be Written

Just in case you haven't heard, Dries popped into the Drupal Dojo webchat (#drupal-dojo on Freenode), and mentioned that he has a publisher who wants to put out another Drupal book, and they need an author.

So, if you think you have what it takes and want a shot at fame and fortune, money, glamour, or hot (girls|men), contact Dries and offer your services.

Meetups schedule

To get the ball rolling,

for all of you interested in attending meetup-type events in Hamilton, how often would you be interested? Would this be something you are interested in weekly? Monthly? Bi-Monthly?

Does anyone care to organize?

Does anyone feel like being the organizational head / manager / leader of the Hamilton group? Unfortunately, I am in much to busy a schedule to spend time organizing meetups and events currently. At the same time, I (as well as others, apparently) see the benefits of a Hamilton group, and don't want to see it die / lie unused because I can't put the effort into it.

If anyone else feels like they have the capacity and time to take on the responsibility, you are welcome to it!

Hamilton Group Created

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop the word that a Hamilton group has been created. I by no means intend to try to split or divert focus from the great discussion and learning that goes on in the Toronto group. I do, however, think that having a group local to Hamilton and area will facilitate meetups which are more convenient for Hamilton / Burlington / Niagara drupallers than the alternative of the hour or longer drive to get to Toronto meetings.

Cheers.
