Omega shop/individual to build edu homepage theme
The University of Northern Iowa will be looking for a Drupal shop/individual to build out an Omega theme for the homepage website in collaboration with another firm who has done user research and is contracted to do design work. This is probably going to be an RFP - if you're interested please contact me to be put on the list to be sent more details in the future: http://drupal.org/user/586386/contact
The institution is planning to use Omega for all Drupal 7 sites and most will be designed based upon this work for the homepage site.

Get Involved with Core Sprint (May 20th, 2012)
If you're anything like me after spending a couple of days talking about Drupal my fingers start to get a little bit twitchy and I just want to sit down and write some code or review a patch. So following the awesome DrupalCamp Twin Cities on May 18-19, 2012 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, Jess (xjm), Tim Plunkett (tim.plunkett) and Joe Shindelar (eojthebrave) will be running a sprint aimed at helping anyone and everyone get involved in Drupal core development.

Can page cache be configured to ignore certain query parameters?
When our newsletters go out, links are appended with user-unique tags for tracking purposes and whatnot. Something like example.com/page?userID=1234. It is my understanding that these unique values are all treated as unique pages and effectively bust the cache.
We experience big spikes in web server and database load as soon as these newsletters are sent out. Is there any way to keep those queries in the url, but have the caching mechanism ignore specific ones?
I feel like someone must have run into this before, but my google-fu is coming up short.
