THE JOB:
We are looking for an experienced LAMP Developer with Drupal experience to provide development, installation, and configuration support for community driven websites using Drupal. Duties will include: A major redesign of current site and migration of content to a Drupal based system; extending the existing website through custom module development; extending the existing user modules to provide enhanced user experience to Members; intranet development for reporting, marketing, and management; development of website widgets for use on 3rd party websites using 3rd party APIs. This position is an integral, 'hands-on' position that will be involved throughout the product planning, development, and deployment lifecycles.

YOU:
Must have completed a bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience developing community driven websites using LAMP technologies. In addition, the candidate should be able to provide input into design and architecture to enhance performance and functionality. YOUR BACKGROUND:

3+ years of demonstrable PHP experience
2+ years of MySQL DBMS, Apache, Linux OS
2+ years working with HTML/CSS templates within a database driven environment for dynamic websites
2+ years of working experience with the Drupal platform (Familiarity with progress and some experience with Drupal 6 a plus)
Hands on experience with the installation, management, maintenance, optimization and customization of Drupal
Experience with customizing templates, hooks, Views, Panels, Taxonomy, Workflow, Nodequeue, and blocks for Drupal
Experience developing and administering community-based applications
Experience developing website widgets using 3rd party APIs
Substantial experience with current user-experience and "back-end" web technologies such as jQuery, XML, AJAX

Hi all,

Can anyone direct me to a directory of women working as open source/drupal web developers/designers (preferably in Los Angeles and Southern CA) who may be interested in doing nonprofit work?

Having stumbled on drupalchix and read Laura Scott's ( of pingv.com) article on the invisibility of women in the field, I wanted to see if I can find a savvy and affordable developer interested in designing a quality data-base driven dynamic website for a volunteer-run community council/non-profit representing 60,000 people?

While their budget is severe (under 10k) there's unusual opportunity here for positive publicity about OS, Drupal and women doing amazing things in these areas. If no women are interested/available, the gender's open!

What we do need is a mature, tested professional who designs and develops like a demon.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

Understand Web 2.0 and have relationships in the community to

Take direction to organize stakeholders (Knight staff, grantees,

for the KNC.
Support engaging the Web 2.0 community in innovative ways,
through meet-ups and other events and documenting results

The Science Museum of Minnesota is hiring a Drupal developer to work as part of the team that operates the award wining Science Buzz website and exhibit.

Science Buzz is expanding in many ways. Your Drupal, PHP, and web coding skills will help us:

develop Mentor Buzz, an online community focusing on the needs of mentors and their students talking about science
create unique web features focusing on contemporary issues like the 35W bridge collapse, Hurricane Katrina, or even male pregnancy!
build web enabled exhibits that allow other museums around the country that allow their visitors to hook into the Science Buzz community
create new tools that help our visitors create content along with us...we like to share authority

You should be:

Comfortable exploring new ways to create web content and user interactions using the Drupal CMS

Writing custom theme code
Modifying and developing new modules
Learning new methods of development as a member of the Drupal community

We've spent the last couple of years building on drupal at Amherst and are looking to scale up our efforts.
