Nashville, Tennessee
Welcome to the Nashville, Tennesse Drupal Group. Our primary goal is to support all things Drupal, in Nashville and surrounding areas. Our group is open to newbies, designers, seasoned developers, strategists, researchers, businesses… ANYONE who would like to learn more about Drupal; how to create Drupal sites and/or how to put them to work for you.
How to Join Us: We currently hold casual weekly meetups, every Thursday at 5:00pm (central), at a popular local cafe known as JJ's Market on Broadway, in Nashville, near the Vanderbilt campus. You can also join us and participate in our monthly DrupalCamp Nashville planning meetings. We're currently working on reviving our monthly session schedule for focused topics.
Come join us and tell us what you'd like to learn.
Field Trip!
We're meeting at JJ's this Thursday, as usual. If you plan on joining us, try to get there before 6:00 PM. We'll be leaving JJ's for a field trip in the name of science (lunch menu research for April's DrupalCamp).
Thursday's at JJ's
The holidays are history and Thursdays at JJ's resume tonight.
Generally open agenda, though between now and April we'll be including some camp related business at 6:00 PM.
We need volunteers. Think about it.

December Tri-Cities Drupal Meeting
Last Tri-Cities meeting of the year is coming up. We will be taking a look at Drush, and SASS. This should be a great way to finish out 2011 and take us in to the new year.
I hope to see everyone there. I will get a new flyer posted for those of you who can hang them about to draw in more Drupal enthusiasts.
Till then,
Cory

For our November meeting we'll resume our three part series on the Drupal 7 theme system.

DrupalCamp Nashville Meeting (2 of 2 for October)
This meeting is the "regularly scheduled" DrupalCamp Nashville meeting for October.

DrupalCamp Nashville Meeting (1 of 2 for October)
This is an extra meeting in which we'll meet with the logo designer to discuss his doing the design for the camp site.
Note that this was bumped a day, to Wednesday. Still at JJ's. Still at 6:00 PM.
Revisiting Drupal's Block System
For some time now I've had a sneaking suspicion that the reason so many developers prefer Context over Drupal's block system boils down to developers taking power away from the client's admin. There may be clumsy aspects to blocks, but client's can understand them. This is well illustrated in this excellent post by Randall Knutson.
The Drupal Theme System - Part 1
For Fall we're getting back into some monthly meetings, and we're kicking things off with a three part series that will take an in-depth look at theme development with Drupal's theming system. We'll begin with more introductory concepts and then moved to a more advanced direction over the next two months.
Part One, for October, will introduce Drupal's theme system (in Drupal 7), the fundamental components, templates and variables; working with regions; and creating subthemes.
