Web manager | Friends Journal
FRIENDS JOURNAL, a nonprofit monthly Quaker magazine, seeks a web manager for www.friendsjournal.org. This is a contract position and can be performed remotely.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the publisher and executive editor, associate publisher, director of advancement, and art department to understand FRIENDS JOURNAL style and to further the work of fundraising, promotion, and delivery of content and service to readers.
• Update content of website monthly as determined by the publisher and executive editor and senior editor, including posting articles from current and upcoming issues, updating bios and intern listings as needed, maintaining secure forms, and performing miscellaneous changes and updates to the site upon request.
• Add new features to website in consultation with the publisher and executive editor and other staff, making suggestions for enhancements as appropriate.
• Maintain site using current standards in online publishing, taking full responsibility for the back end of the website.
• Monitor web traffic and provide reports three times annually for the Board of Trustees.
• Troubleshoot technical problems related to the website.
Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Drupal 5.1.x required
• Strong HTML and CSS skills required
• Basic PHP skills required
• Experience working with open source software required
