SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS ENGINEER II

ETD Software Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Software Applications Engineer II with an emphasis on PHP/Drupal Development. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Applications Development Manager.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires someone who excels in a highly collaborative team environment. This individual will be part of a highly productive, cross functional team working closely together to develop interactive TV and web based applications for our hotel customers. Responsibilities include providing analysis, design, programming, testing and debugging of software applications. Will modify existing software in order to change or enhance software products. Develop engineering documentation for the programmed applications. Work in conjunction with other software applications development staff, project management and product management in order to facilitate final product specifications. Provide input on the feasibility of new products as the initial product requirements are being developed. Provide development estimates for new products that are being considered for development.
Candidates considered qualified for these positions will possess the following minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* 4-year Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or relevant experience.
* 4 years PHP experience required.
* 2 years Drupal module development experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have highly developed OO programming skills.
* Agile Development experience a plus.
* Mysql or postgreSQL experience a plus.
* Test Driven development experience a plus.
* Use of automated unit test software a plus.
* Must have a good understanding of Software Engineering methodologies.
* Must be a self motivated individual with a strong desire to learn new technologies.
* Must have a competent level of oral and written communication skills.
* Must be a team player and with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
