Design, research and develop innovative, state of the art collaboration software for communities of multi-disciplinary researchers. Develop practical, reusable, semantically structured knowledge bases, advanced query capabilities and intuitive interfaces for biomedical researchers across institutions. Work closely with project manager and team members to clarify scope, functional requirements, research alternative technologies, set technical direction of project and determine architecture. Design and implement test and document software modules and follow best practices of software methodologies.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or related
- 8-10 years of object-oriented programming experience, algorithms and advanced data structures
- Extensive experience in full-cycle development of advanced scientific software and communicating with scientific clients.
- Experience in web applications development and technologies such as JavaScript, XHTML, XML, AJAX, XSLT.
- Knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal.
- Knowledge of semantic web technologies (RDF, SPARQL) desired.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics tools a big plus
- Outstanding problem solving skills and effective at researching/assessing new technologies to meet user needs
- Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
- Results driven attitude, ability to work independently and committed to learning new technologies
