We’re preparing a CiviCRM developer camp in Brussels on February 3rd and 4th – right before FOSDEM 2011 and drupal developer days. Developer Camps are a place where CiviCRM developers, administrator and users can get together around CiviCRM. We’d like you to let us know what you want to see at the camp by commenting on the wiki page.

CiviCRM is an open source and freely downloadable constituent relationship management solution. It is web-based, open source, internationalized, and designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups and that's a drupal module.

It is recommended by The Free Software Foundation (FSF) as a fully featured donor and contact management system for nonprofits. beside the FSF, Amnesty International, Creative Commons, and the Wikimedia Foundation are using CiviCRM.

It is the Project of the Month jan 2011 on Sourceforge.

The developer camp is aimed at those that want to learn more about CiviCRM from the people involved in its development. If you are interested in improving your CiviCRM admin skills, learning more about developing with CiviCRM or helping improve the product in any other way, then this camp is for you. Last year, we had participants that where either developers, administrators or trainers. Some didn't have development skills, but are involved in complex installations with a lost of custom functions and wanted to understand better how it works at a technical level.

Jason Siegel from the Democrats abroad said about last year training: "it was extremely enlightening, and motivating for our whole group (techies and not) we gained valuable experience and made great contacts. you will feel instantly part of the community and will learn about what the many features of CiviCRM can do your your organization".

Since last year, a new Civi Component has been added to manage campaigns and online petitions, a lot of new features and UI improvments, more tool to extend civicrm and an improved API.

You can register for the event. If budget is an issue, we are offering discounts in exchange for CiviCRM community work (which is another great way to learn about the CiviCRM community).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by email: civicon-europe@civicrm.org

If you need to inform others, the page with all of the above information is http://www.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=114

Thanks for reading this and, hopefully, see you in Brussels!
