pingVision has immediate openings for two experienced Interactive Producers to join its award-winning interactive design and development team. We're seeking passionate, creative, organized, highly knowledgeable and results-driven people who thrive in a face-paced environment.

These are full-time positions. Contract-to-hire is a possibility. Sorry, telecommuting is not an option. [No outsourcers!]

Responsibilities

The Interactive Producer is responsible for managing multiple simultaneous projects through entire web production process, from requirements gathering, information architecture and design through development, testing, QA and deployment. Most projects to start will be web-based, with a significant emphasis on Drupal-powered websites. The Interactive Producer works with team leads and project coordinator, and reports to the Creative Director and COO. Some travel may be involved on an occasional basis.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Scope, prioritize, manage and implement multiple medium- to large-scale web-based concurrent projects, working with multiple teams from inception to completion, keeping the projects within scope, on time and meeting top quality standards to deliver specified requirements and exceed customer expectations.
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings and subsequent status meetings with project team and stakeholders, including clients and client representatives. Communicate clearly and often with project stakeholders. Facilitate flow of assets and information between clients and design/development teams regarding project status and changing priorities.
  • Gather and document requirements, define scope. Work with client in developing information architecture. Create functional and user experience requirements documentation.
  • Create and manage timelines for projects. Supervise daily progress. Track hours worked on each project, monitor and analyze daily time entry by project team, and make adjustments to project velocity as necessary.
  • QA testing and review for consistency and quality. Conduct cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility tests.
  • Ensure strict adherence to tech specs, timetables, quality standards and best practices.
  • Manage and keep track of all reviews and approvals. Sign off on all QA.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day website maintenance.
  • Facilitate production of project documentation.
  • Work with clients on project hand-over, and facilitate necessary training and orientation.
  • Identify potential needs for improvements and advise senior management on potential solutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Expert understanding of the web production process, including requirements gathering, design, development tools and technologies, QA and deployment management. At least 2 years' experience in interactive web production, analysis, or development; or 2 years experience in project management with an understanding of interactive website design and production. Familiarity / experience in Agile development methodology.
  • Knowledge of Drupal. (Expert knowledge preferred.) Extensive knowledge of content management systems (CMS) for handling web content. Strong familiarity with open source software. Well versed in web technologies such as hand-coding HTML/xhtml, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, shell, basic server setups. (Hand-coding experience with xhtml, CSS, PHP and/or MySQL preferred.)
  • Excellent ability to write, speak, and use images to clearly and persuasively communicate in technical and non-technical subjects with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management skills. Able to identify, organize, and accomplish tasks in priority order, and keep several projects moving ahead simultaneously with a minimum of supervision. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain quality and effectiveness despite changing priorities. Ability to work in a team environment in situations in which ambiguity and multiple priorities are likely.
  • Proven ability in the creation of quality web graphic design and web site architecture.
  • Capable of integrating technical skills and strategies with business needs analysis and strategic thinking about communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. An understanding of the capabilities and limitations of graphics programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator. Proven ability with OmniGraffle, Photoshop, Illustrator preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to established standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed documentation.
  • Interest in existing and emerging web technologies, user experience, interactive design, usability, and best practices.
  • Dedication to company goals, standards, and project excellence. Enthusiasm and dependability.
  • Bachelor's level education or equivalent.
