Contract Programmer | National Novel Writing Month/The Office of Letters and Light
About Us
The Office of Letters and Light is an Oakland-based nonprofit that puts on the world's largest creative writing events. All our events are free, and we're best known for organizing National Novel Writing Month (www.NaNoWriMo.org), a hands-on novel writing escapade for which 100,000 kids and adults bash out books every November. Participants chart their progress on our websites, attend local write-ins, and receive encouragement from staff and email pep talks from such authors as Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, and Tom Robbins.
About the Job
We're looking for Drupal programmers to help us add new features to existing modules, and develop integrations between modules. We are also looking for a themer to complete the redesign of one of our sites.
Our projects this summer include work extending
- Forums
- Organic Groups
- Private Message
- Profiles-as-nodes
- Custom Themes
Work begins in late June, with all work due mid-August. Wherever possible, we expect code developed for OLL to be contributed back to Drupal or the appropriate contrib module.
How to Apply
If you are interested in working with us, please send a cover letter with some background about yourself and your work to: jobs@lettersandlight.org. We'll get back to you with specs for particular projects in need of programmers.
