Hey LA Drupallers,

A team of Caltech graduate students and I are looking for a web developer with Drupal expertise. Our startup, ScholarFeed, is a social research tool built to revolutionize the way scientists access and share information. Think Science 2.0.

The position is part-time / freelance with the potential to become full-time. Compensation may include equity in an early stage company. We are based in Pasadena, and our ideal applicant would be located close by, though telecommuting may be possible for the right candidate. In addition to development work, we are looking for someone interested in data mining, APIs, collective intelligence algorithms, and the semantic web.

Please send a cover letter, resume, and drupal.org username to jobs@scholarfeed.com.

Responsibilities:

* Drupal consulting
* Rapidly prototyping and developing new features
* Developing API, creating mashups, and building widgets
* Data mining
* Implementing collective intelligence algorithms

Applicants should be experts in:

* PHP
* MySQL
* Drupal
* HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX
* bonus: XML, SOAP, JSON, RSS, ATOM

Perks of working at a startup:

* Lots of responsibility, but also plenty of freedom
* Equity
* The potential to disrupt an industry
* Great experience to learn and grow
* Looks good on a resume

Extra credit:

* You have a science background, or a deep interest in science.
* You data mine and exploit APIs and metadata in your spare time.
* You want to save the world, or at least revolutionize the way researchers communicate and share information.
* Your machine learning algorithm read this post before you did.
