Volunteer Developers, Designers and Contributors | OneWorldWiki

Hi all,

We are seeking volunteers to help design, develop and contribute content to a new online community - OneWorldWiki. People at any skill level or interest in Drupal are welcome - designers, developers, themers, or simply people who want to make a difference.

The "wiki" in OneWorldWiki means mass collaboration. Originally, we started using Mediawiki but found it too limiting so we're now using the wonderful world of Drupal.

OneWorldWiki is developing an Online Community based around Environmental, Political and Social Issues. It will combine curated and user-generated content and applications. Rather than going to multiple websites and other sources for information and resources about particular issues and organizations, users can go to one Online Community that unites all of this information, applications and resources under one roof.

OneWorldWiki is conceived of as a means for people to:
• Educate themselves and educate others about Political, Social and Environmental Issues and Causes
• Take action to make the world a better place for ourselves and for future generations
• Create communities by connecting with other like-minded people and organizations
• Discover ways to purchase products and services produced and distributed in an ethical and green manner
• Discover ways to live our everyday lives which take into account ethics, sustainability and the environment
• Find ways to become inspired and reclaim enthusiasm, passion and joy, by examining practices that integrate activism consciously and joyfully into a well-balanced life
• Exchange and implement socially-responsible and sustainable business and organizational practices and resources

The primary mission of OneWorldWiki is to promote human rights, social, economic, and environmental justice and sustainability by educating, engaging, connecting, and empowering people around the world. The major components of OneWorldWiki are:
• OneWorldWiki Resources – Resources—articles, books, videos, etc.—about Political, Social and Environmental Issues
• OneWorldWiki Action – Ways to take action to make the world a better place for ourselves and for future generations
• OneWorldWiki Network - Connect with other people and organizations about the issues that we care about
• OneWorldWiki Ethical Shopping – Guide to ethical and environmentally-friendly products and services
• OneWorldWiki Ethical Living - Everyday ways to live which take into account ethics, sustainability and environment
• OneWorldWiki Inspiration - Ways to inspire us & keep us committed to making the world a better place
• OneWorldWiki Sustainable Business - Socially-responsible and sustainable business practices and resources
• OneWorldWiki CleanTech - Guide to Clean Technology and Renewable Energy
