PHP Developer with Drupal and Zend Framework - R18000 - R20 000 CTC in Cape Town

It is for a leading digital marketing agency in South Africa. The company is based in Sea Point

The successful candidate will be required to work with the creative and technical team in designing and developing new websites as well as maintaining existing websites. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and innovative, and have a great all-round knowledge of the internet and emerging and internet technologies and trends.

Responsibilities:
A good understanding of CSS/XHTML and the importance of standards compliant code;
Ability to custom write Javascript and implement any existing JavaScript for a project;
Experience working with AJAX, XML, Experience with PEAR, JSON, SMARTY and SOAP beneficial;
Collaborate with account managers, designers, and back-end developers to refine the user experience;
Collaborate with the interactive team to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies are innovative, yet supportable;
Make use of an established code base, CMS platforms and enhance / extend the functionality;
Ability to refactor / implement reusable code and work to tight deadlines from time to time;
Drupal and Zend Framework experience a definite plus;

Requirements:
2-3 years experience in PHP Web Development;
Excellent oral communication skills;
The ability to thrive within a team environment;
Excellent knowledge of object-orientated PHP (4&5), standards -compliance;
Ability to follow development guidelines and coding practices;
Independent problem-solving skills, ability to write code that scales well;
Understanding of how the web works, from low to high levels;
Familiarity with a wide range of relevant technologies and web standards
