Are you a Drupal ninja? Do you want to use your skills in service of a greater good?
We're looking for a benevolent code-shredder who can help run an international campaign to stop the climate crisis. Our small and nimble crew coordinate 350.org, a new internationalized platform to link up the pieces of the growing global movement to stop the climate crisis. We're a young team that moves quickly, and we seek an engineer who can match us in enthusiasm, efficiency, and dedication.
We want to push the boundaries of what's possible with web-based activism, to develop and implement tools that can facilitate the creation a new kind of global movement: wired, diverse, mobile, visionary , and above all, effective.
Our ideal candidate has:

2+ Years as a Drupal developer with a solid understanding of the framework, coding best-practices, resources and community
*
A diverse portfolio of Drupal work and three references
*
Strong PHP, HTML, and CSS Skills
*
Understanding of, interest in, and experience with projects that have a focus on sustainability, social change, advocacy.
*
A good sense of design aesthetics and usability
*
Experience with internationalization and localization.
*
Strong ties to the Drupal community.
*
The ability to work side-by-side with our team in San Francisco at least two days a week, with the option to work from a distance for additional work.

Good communication skills (both oral and written) and strong people skills, and experience interfacing with clients
*
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
*
Capacity to multi-task and work nimbly, balancing multiple priorities and interruptions
Responsibilities include:
*
Creating elegant and efficient programming solutions that are flexible and forward-compatible
*
Developing custom modules
*
Debugging and troubleshooting issues
*
Configuring servers and databases
We estimate this will be a full-time position through the end of the year, with strong potential for continued full-time or part-time work depending on the status of the campaign. Work begins ASAP.
