Revision as of 09-05-2008:
I found a coach and developer to help me...and actually I just launched a beta of my first Drupal website. It is a travel website :-) for planning and booking a trip to Las Vegas. www.vegaschill.com
Its in Beta mode, many things to fix on it still, but would love to hear any feedback that anybody has.

Thank you also to the people who replied to my initial post requesting leads for a paid Drupal coach. The original post is intact below...but I'll be deleting the whole post soon. (unless anybody replies with comments, of course...in which case I'd keep the post in case the comments are helpful for anybody in the future)

I am in need of a Drupal coach to help me get a better grasp of Drupal site development and best practices. I am new to Drupal, and am quite confused about some basic Drupal concepts and the best ways to do things. I'd like to chat with a coach to help me better understand blocks, regions, CCK, Views and images, especially as they relate to a couple of sites I'm working on.

Ideally I would like to work with somebody for about 5-10 hours, mostly over the phone (on my dime of course). I'd also prefer to have the arrangement set up as some type of "appointment" for coaching over the phone. My schedule is flexible, but I'd like some type of structure and/or pre-set time and day. For example - 1 hour a day every other day for 10 days. (although part of this hour might be in prepping for our call, so the actual phone call might not be a full hour).

The coach must be well-versed in Drupal best practices, and must also be able to explain things in laymen's terms if needed. Patience would be great, too, as the coach will be talking with an ultra newbie.

Contact me through my contact form if you're interested. Please include info on your hourly rate.
