We are looking for an enthusiastic PHP developer to add to our growing department, a seat is waiting for you.
You will be working as part of the web team building websites for our events and products, some examples of which are:

Our office is based in the Old School building in Higher Kinnerton, a beautiful village 6 miles outside of Chester. This would be a perfect fit for someone who wants to work in the outskirts of the city. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the greatest people in the industry (honest they are!) who are passionate about the products they work on.
There is free parking, free refreshments and plenty of fun activities to take part in (the next of which is on May 8th when we take a day out of the office to enjoy ourselves at Chester racecourse).
Working hours are 9:00 till 5:30 with 1 hour lunch. Throughout the summer you can start the weekend that little bit earlier when the office closes at 4:30 on Fridays and lots of other perks and more, as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Developing websites for a variety of publications, events and in-house systems
- Developing web applications and company products.
- Assist with front end development and testing, jQuery/CSS
- Assist with website performance and scalability.
- Develop performance and unit tests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of PHP/MySQL programming/coding.
- Knowledge of Web Server configuration, LAMP stack
- Knowledge of technologies such as Varnish, Memcache and Apache Solr.
- Able to write semantically-rich, valid HTML/CSS.
- Good understanding of Javascript / jQuery.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also good at collaboration, taking direction and working with others.
