Drupal / Software Developer, Consumer Health | Healia / Meredith Corp.

Healia (www.healia.com), an award-winning health search engine and online health community, seeks to become the ultimate gateway to high quality and personalized health information and support. We are looking for an exceptional, creative Software Developer to help us build and implement compelling Web technologies for consumer health. This position will serve as a lead software engineer for a novel online health community for consumers. You will have an opportunity to create and implement a novel social networking platform that fulfills an important social need and that will be used by many millions of consumers. This position requires familiarity with open source tools for software development (PHP, Drupal, Linux). Candidate will report directly to the CTO. This is a small team environment and each person has a major impact on the success of the product/company. The position is based in the Seattle area (Bellevue, WA); no remote applicants or offshore developers please.

Duties:
Collaboratively design, develop, test, and implement Web software products.
Identify, evaluate, and implement technologies to support Web applications and business needs.
Work within software development teams to exceed expectations.
Support day-to-day operations of the IT and business staff and support business and technology partners and vendors.

Requirements:
2+ years of software development experience with a focus on Web applications.
Experience with Linux, PHP, Drupal, java, java server pages, subversion, MySQL, and AJAX.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Deep understanding of Web 2.0 technologies and hands-on experience with open source technologies for social media and/or content management.
Team player with strong communications skills.
