Drupal Developer: Tribal Youth website | Education Development Center
Looking for developer to transition existing website located at http://www.tribalyouthprogram.org to Drupal CMS Framework. Site must be designed to be maintained by EDC staff after completion.
Phase One (to be completed by November 15th)
- Transition existing website (as described above)
- Calendar of events
- Conference Registration - participants need to be able to register through our website, pull existing contact information from our existing database, check their information before submitting, receive a confirmation email, and have the information is directed to our database (MySQL based)
- Upload documents
- “What's New” Block – this will show up on the homepage whenever we update, change, or add a new article/event/etc.
- Map with ability to zoom in to grantee locations to include grantee information pulled from existing database
- Have Drupal site connect to a separate MySQL database of grantees and staff information and present the data within the drupal site (and possibly also incorporate the data into the node and/or search tables). Ability to create pages dynamically linked to existing database such as displaying a list of active grantees with pertinent information and staff contact information.
***Note: There is an existing MySQL database that is used by center staff to track interactions with grantees. Information needs to be pulled from this database and formatted for inclusion in the public website. This database is NOT accessible except from our hosts for security reasons, but a snapshot of the database can be available for testing purposes.
- Additional Blocks to be pulled from nodes: Ability to highlight upcoming events, funding opportunities, things with deadlines in a section on our website (separate from What’s New)
Please note that EDC will install a fresh copy of Drupal on our in-house servers. We ask that you please tell us how you would implement phase one of the website redesign and include any links to other drupal sites you've worked on. We are also not wed to any specific version of Drupal and would like to hear from you as to which version of Drupal you would proceed with. Finally, while we have a general architecture for the site, we welcome any recommendations or suggestions you may have.
Telecommuting is allowed, however we would prefer if you are able to meet with us in person on a regular basis (at least an hour long weekly meeting for the first couple of weeks).
If you have any questions, please contact Erin Tackney at etackney@edc.org.
If you are interested in applying, please send your resume/, portfolio links, and qualifications to Erin Tackney at etackney@edc.org. Proposals will be reviewed by EDC’s in-house web developers. Qualified candidates may be asked to come in for an interview.
For more specifics including our phase 2 requirements (needed by January 1) as well as a list Drupal sites that have features we want for our site, please download the pdf at http://www.tribalyouthprogram.org/materials/TYP-Drupal-SOC.pdf.
