About Drupal Camp Asheville

Drupal Camp Asheville is a conference created by Drupal users and lovers living and working in and around Asheville, NC. We created this two day event in order to educate and empower beginners, help current users take their work to the next level, and unite all users together as part of the Drupal Development Community. Drupal Camp Asheville is created and led entirely by volunteers who hope that the day will be accessible to people of all skill levels and affordable for anyone who is interested.

Key Note Speaker - Addison Berry

We are excited to have Addison Berry from Lullabot flying out to be our speaker. Addison Berry takes part in many areas of both Drupal software and community. In addition to being the Documentation Team Lead, she contributes patches to Drupal core, maintains several contributed modules, and is active in various mentoring programs such as the Drupal Dojo group and Google's Highly Open Participation (GHOP) program.

Pre-Training

We will be offering paid training on August 12th this year:

Drupal in a Day with Doug Vann

Dig into the powerful tools that make Drupal 7 the most flexible and efficient way to get your website online. In this introductory, hands-on workshop, you'll learn your way around the latest release of this popular web content management system. You will take on key tasks for building and administering a Drupal site: creating and managing content, granting user permissions, expanding your site's capabilities with key modules, and more. Drupal lets you accomplish these essential steps without writing a line of code. Join us for this one-day workshop, and see what you can do with point-and-click site building!

Running a Drupal Shop: Running It or Running Ragged

Presented by Music City Networks Trying to get to the next level of growth? Feel stuck and not sure how to scale? This is a fun and interactive workshop for companies trying to grow their business and be more profitable. We discuss how to grow a Drupal company. If you are a shop trying to get to the next level, this might be the right place for you. This is an interactive workshop, not a preach-n-teach session. We find out how others are succeeding and struggling so we can all grow together.

Plan to attend....

I went to the DrupalCamp in Spartanburg last week and can honestly say I learned a lot about different aspects of Drupal. Whether it is Administration, Use of Key Modules, and even a step into Module Development. I had the opportunity to meet Matt who is organizing the event in Asheville and he shared some of the training he has planned. This will include some PHP intros to Drupal. If we can get enough of our local group going maybe we can figure out some carpooling options.

Plan on attending

This is Jason, I led the "Intro to module devel" presentation at Spartanburg DC and I'm planning on attending the Asheville camp. I've got a smallish car though (Prius), so not sure how many folks I can bring along. Send a PM to follow up and we'll set something up.

When and where does this group meet? I didn't see an event for a meetup.

Agenda for Paid Training

Is there an agenda for the paid training? Thx

HAJ

We are still trying to work

mrconnerton's picture

We are still trying to work that out. We will at least be having a beginners training class and potentially a intro to php class. I'm learning that statistically only ~8% of registered people actually pay for training. So at a ~250 person camp, that's only 20 people that will come to the classes when we would want ~15 per class.
