Drupal Dev. | Work Helping New Website Creating Template Group Views

This is related to an issue I brought up at the last SeaDUG meeting, I have yet to get it to work the way I want it to, and I'm doubting my ability to attend this month.

I'm working on a website where I want to create the ability for users to create groups. I've been able to create a site which allows me to make groups, but I'm concerned by the complexity of the process and I'd like to make the process more streamlined for my users. In a nutshell, I'd like to create an interface which makes the process for creating groups more straightforward and applys a consistent theme/view/look to the groups, much the way this function works in Facebook.

Compensation: I'd like to work with you to solve this. Perhaps we could work at a public place (Skylark Cafe?) which has food, drink, and hotspot. I'd pick up the tab for food, drink, (cab fare) and throw in an hourly rate of $60+ (negotiable). Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
