August Meeting

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Folks,

Do we have a place to hold a meeting in August? If not, I'd like to offer up the conference room of my company, Project Zen Online. We've got room enough for 8-10 people comfortably, and if we outgrow that, we can move out to the production floor which is a whole lot bigger. We've got 7MB wifi and a projector and whiteboards galore.

I've been missing the Drupal meetings lately, and I'd like to see them fired back up.

Thanks

Well, traditionally we've had

Well, traditionally we've had meetings on the last Wednesday of the month. Is that still viable for people, or do we need to look at changing it?

Meeting Date Suggestion

ClintBseID's picture

Following the April or May meeting, it was proposed that the meeting date be moved to the second Tuesday of the month since the last Wednesday was a problem for some of our members resulting in poor attendance. There was a group meeting held on June 8th at Fudruckers in Meridian but I don't know how well attended it was in terms of a head count. I was unable to attend although normally I would have. Maybe we can get a report on that meeting date but the "second Tuesday" is rapidly approaching as next week and as an alternative date. My personal opinion is that we need scheduled "presentations" to drive the meeting attendance. Just meeting to network (no agenda), while some will attend, most will not if they don't have a reason to attend.

Scheduled Presentations

I think the scheduled presentations idea is a good one. I haven't been able to make it to a meeting yet but if I knew in advance what was being presented/highlighted, that would definitely add some incentive. I also like the conference room idea with the projector, wifi, etc. It would also be helpful to have more of a set date in advance and not just a casual hit-or-miss "second Tuesday, last Wednesday" - it's difficult to plan on a meeting when you're not really sure when it is or if it's a go. Just my 2 cents...

OK, so let's plan on not

OK, so let's plan on not having an August meeting, then, since we're already past the second Tuesday, and we don't have anyone lined up to do presentations. I'll start a new thread to plan for a September meeting.
