The Institute for American Thought at IUPUI (http://liberalarts.iupui.edu/iat) is seeking a Web Developer to collaborate on a large Drupal-based project.
The Web Developer will assist the Peirce Edition Project's Associate Technical Editor in programming and developing an innovative web-based scholarly-text editing platform (STEP) designed for scholarly editors to transcribe, edit and annotate documents. This position will support the creation of both online and print formats of the 30-volume Peirce critical edition, a selective but comprehensive edition designed to document the development of Charles Peirce’s thought and promote the critical study of his intellectual growth and interdisciplinary impact (http://www.iupui.edu/~peirce/). The successful candidate will have genuine interest in collaborating for the success of a major humanities project.
This position will use PHP and JavaScript to program several modules that make up that electronic platform, which will run entirely on-line through Drupal -- a web Content Management System -- and a MySQL database. They will assist with building several custom Drupal modules, modification of existing Drupal modules, data migration from FileMaker Pro into MySQL, and Macintosh OS X Server support.
