POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of Rochester libraries are looking to immediately hire a developer to aid in the implementation, development, and creation of web applications. Responsible for advanced web programming in the Drupal Application Framework as well as increasing web site functionality and interactivity. This is a full-time, temporary position that can start as early as December 2008 and will last for no longer than 1 year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology plus 3-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;

experience with programming PHP 5 and Drupal;

creative web design using HTML and CSS;

familiarity with AJAX Technologies such as JQuery; SQL – MySQL or other RDBMS system; and IDEs (Eclipse, Dreamweaver, etc.);

ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;

expert level skills with database design and interaction of databases with web pages via server-side programming;

familiarity with Subversion, CVS, or other software version control system;

excellent oral and written communication skills;

ability to prioritize and multitask;

capability of working collaboratively with unit members and library staff.
