Sr. Web Developer
Los Angeles Company within the Media and Entertainment Industry

As our client’s Sr. Web Developer, you would be a part of the Information Technology Team. Your primary focus would be designing, developing and maintaining web applications to support business operations. Other responsibilities would include:

• Serving as the mentor/team leader of the web staff
• Maintaining and enhancing existing web applications and services
• Designing, prototyping and implementing new applications and web services
• Following test driven development practices to ensure a low rate of software defects
• Writing well structured and documented code to ensure ease of maintenance
• Collaborating with other depts to understand business requirements to support existing applications
• Working with the Webmaster to ensure all web communications needs are met
• Keeping the Director and CIO abreast of any web issues that could prevent the continued success of the website

We’re seeking an individual who has a solid understanding of Drupal, PHP, Ajax and is familiar with OO design – languages such as J2EE, JSP, Java and JavaScript. If you’re also a team player and want to be a mentor to other peers on the team, look no further. Here are a few other things we’re seeking in the ideal candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related for equivalent technical work experience
• Experience working with Drupal
• Expert knowledge of Java programming – ORM frameworks: Hibernate, Apache, iBatis
• Experience working as a project or team leader
• Proven years of web development experience
• Knowledge of design patterns and OOP best practices
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database design
• Experience with web services – SOAP, XML-RPC, REST
• Background with Spring Framework including Spring MVC
• Knowledge of server side programming with PHP and MySQL
• Familiarity with UNIX operating systems (Linux, Solaris)
