JOB SUMMARY
This contract role consists primarily of Drupal 7 theming and site development. The selected individual will be provided design mockups by our graphic designer and asked to create Drupal themes/sub-themes based on the mockups. In addition, they will develop sites according to clearly defined specifications. The candidate should be very familiar with the Drupal core as well as common useful modules. The candidate should be adept at customizing modules and other custom site development as needed. Expected work load will be 4-6 small to medium sized sites per month.
Due to the nature of this contract position, the candidate should be interested in establishing a strong, long-term working relationship with the contracting company. The expectation is that the chosen candidate will work closely with the project manager and graphic designer in order to produce multiple sites each month.
LOCATION
This position is virtual (telecommute) and the chosen candidate will be working with a small team located in Washington, DC, and Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate will be located in Nairobi, but all locations will be considered.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong working knowledge of Drupal 7 and ability to comfortably customize Drupal modules/code
Strong working knowledge of HTML5/CSS3, PHP, and MySQL
Proficiency in English language
Experience with versioning control and Drush (desired)
Desire to work with creative team of dedicated and motivated individuals from the U.S. and Kenya
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
Minimum 4 years experience with website design and development
Minimum 2 years experience with Drupal development and theming
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a position to be held for no less than 6 months. The chosen candidate must have dependable internet connectivity and bandwidth sufficient for audio and video calls.
