The Applications Developer II is responsible for development of applications that support Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing and HR functions. Responsibilities will include enhancements of COB software, and data and systems integrations. This role will take the lead in migration of existing websites to a new CMS and be responsible for identifying appropriate Web 2.0 and rich web frameworks.
You should have experience in the analysis of business and technical requirements. Good problem solving skills are highly desirable. The Application Developer II will participate in building a corporate architecture roadmap.
Required:
1. Minimum four years professional experience
2. Understand test first development principles and Agile methodology
3. GUI development skills
4. Experience with reporting applications and data management
5. Highly skilled: Javascript, SQL, PL/SQL, html, XML, CSS
6. Experience with PHP, Ajax, Java (JSPs, simple servlets)
7. Oracle, PL-SQL, or similar enterprise RDBMS
8. Experience in simple and complex data integrations
9. Extensive experience in solutions design
10. Ability to estimate time on task, contribute to project scoping
11. Enhancement of third-party applications
12. Professional skills: basic technical documentation and report writing, ability to interpret complex business requirements, fundamental change management methodologies, fundamentals of project management
13. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent education and experience
Preferred:
1. Two plus years active use of test first and Agile development methods
2. Experience in structured, object-oriented application development using Java/J2EE JDBC, JSF, Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, MVC, IIS and LAMP, jQuery
3. Experience with multiple open source CMS, Drupal, Joomla etc.
4. Experience with Cast Iron Solutions integrations
5. Backend integrations with Salesforce.com, ERP systems, service desk tools
6. Rich web development experience
7. Design of complex role based security schemes
8. Demonstrated abilities in distributed systems architecture
Responsibilities:
1. Work with business SMEs to collect and document requirements
2. Ability to work with web and graphic designers
3. Develop, enhance and maintain the custom and third-party applications that make up the internal business technology infrastructure
4. Provide task plans, work with project managers
5. Prepare code for deployment by Systems Engineers
6. Knowledge transfers to IT support staff
7. Train-the-trainer for new applications
8. Advise on and resolve incidents. Gathers information to aid in problem determination/resolution and prepares required documentation for vendor resolution as appropriate.
9. Works with Systems Engineer and/or consultants to forecast test/production infrastructure needs.
10. Contributes to overall technical roadmap
11. Develop implementation and test plans as necessary
12. In conjunction with Sr. Systems Engineer assure compliance of applications with infrastructure security policies.
13. Support system compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
14. Work to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and improve reliability, uptime,
15. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
