Seattle's Having a Drupal MiniCamp

robeano's picture

Hey neighbors!

I want to extend an invitation to Seattle DUG's upcoming Drupal MiniCamp. We are running it in BarCamp style, so if you have something you want help with, here's a great chance to get it! This is a one day event (Feb. 21), but we'll be running lightening talks where people will pitch their ideas for the Camp two nights before at our monthly meeting (Feb. 19).

and SEADUG's February 2009 meeting

It's free, and please let me know if you have any questions. I'm organizing this one.

Also, keep April in mind too. We're planning our annual 2-day camp some time that month (before it gets really sunny!). :)

I know, the economy is tight, but if you can make it we would love to have you.

Vancouver Drupal meetup?

Hello Vancouver Drupaleers! I am going to head up to your fair city for a bit of leisure Sunday through Tuesday of next week. I am writing to you with a few questions.

  1. First, would any of you be interested in getting together for coffee or a beer to talk about coming down to Seattle to present or participate in our mini camp on 2/19 or in our Drupal camp coming up in April? We were hoping to tap some of you smart folks to come down and share a bit at our events.
  2. Second, on a personal note I am looking for a little local info. In my former life I was a chef and will be traveling with a chef buddy of mine and we were hoping for some info about food. We hope to stay downtown, so I am looking for restaurant recommendations, I am hoping for a good inexpensive Indian option and a good spot in Chinatown. Any other must-try food recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! If you want to get together shoot me a message and we can set something up, first round is on me.

I'm up for meeting with the exotic southerners!

How interested would that audience be in multilingual Drupal websites? I could give an expanded version of my International and multilingual websites talk that I presented here. But it's only worth making the trek if it's likely to resonate with the group there.

My suggestion for restaurants is to check Wikitravel's Vancouver listings. It's compiled by a group of people, not exclusively foodies. But many of the good ones are listed there. I'd suggest Vij's in the Granville South district for Indian (it's actually Indian-North American Fusion), and I'd join you there. For Chinese, Hon's on Robson is hardly an unknown find, but I like that it has entire vegetarian kitchen.

I like Vij's

I ate there last time I was in town, really liked it. Didn't he open a more casual spot around the corner? Is it nice?

Any one interested in carpooling up to Seattle? I'd love to get up there but don't really want to drive. Happy to pay for gas though.

Irene and I are considering to go up. We'd drive. We're checking with some localson whether or not we'd want to crash the night before/after, or both.

I just signed up or the Seattle mini camp but I'm not going to go alone. We could take my car if the gas is shared.
