This is a two-year project employment position with continuation dependent upon funding. This position provides analysis, design, programming, maintenance and technical support for web and mobile content with an emphasis on meeting external-communication needs for academic and administrative information. Directly reporting to the ATUS Manager of Web Services, the employee will participate in a regularly-scheduled, cross-department, project-coordination meetings with University Communications in the definition and prioritization of work. This position requires knowledge of content management systems, database development for web applications, systems integration and mobile development standards.
This position is part of a Public School Employees of WWU bargaining unit. New employees are required to meet the membership requirements of the current collective bargaining agreement within 30 calendar days of employment.

Position Responsibilities:
Consult with campus constituents and coordinate with the Web Services team in the preparation and deployment of a campus-wide roll-out for distributed content management in Drupal
Conduct needs assessments, specify requirements, and plan processes that meet the needs of colleges, departments and those providing content for the homepage
Continuously identify Drupal modules that meet the increasing demands for website and content management functionality including accessibility; plan for module deployment and support
Develop and disseminate styled templates and Drupal-themed sites for university departments
Implement standards such that university news, events and other communications-related content is widely available and integrated across websites and other electronic media
Identify candidate applications for mobile web or mobile app development; specify data sources and database designs for the delivery of content on mobile platforms
Required Qualifications:
Two year degree in the field of Information Technology or equivalent experience
Two years’ experience as a web analyst/developer
Experience deploying PHP-based content management systems
Solid knowledge of SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise with Drupal, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, and JavaScript
Familiarity with Web Accessibility (ADA)
Significant mobile web analyst experience
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent

Salary: New hires typically begin at $4114/month including an excellent benefits package
