Key Responsibilities:
• Participating in large-scale business application design and development efforts
• Working with the implementation team to develop and test the designed solutions
• Working with the Project Manager to establish and manage the project's scope of work, objectives and delivery
• Developing trusted relationships with client personnel as the Subject Matter Expert in relevant technology and product areas
• Performing on-site proof-of-concept configuration and support for potential clients as required
• Traveling to client sites for short term and long term projects
Required Qualifications:
• MS in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of experience in software technology consulting OR
• BS in Computer Science or a related field with 4+ years of experience in software technology consulting
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated abilities to assess customer needs and to recommend functional and technical solutions
• Exceptional customer-facing skills, including:
oCommunication/Presentation skills
oInterpersonal/social skills
oOverall Professionalism
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing web-based technologies, including: Drupal, Ruby on Rails, Django, and other agile techologies.
• A thorough understanding of the whole web stack, including knowledge of multiple relational database and web server implementations
• Demonstrated expertise with a broad set of application development tools and technologies
• Working knowledge of technologies such as the MVC architecture, the REST pattern, etc.
• Knowlege of AJAX, jquery, JSON, jsonp, etc.
• Familiarity working with Agile project management styles such as XP and Scrum.
• A passion for technology and a curiosity for the next great thing. Experience contributing to an open-source project is a big plus.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with one or more of the following strongly desired:
oApache Solr or another Enterprise-grade search technology (Autonomy, Ultraseek, Google Search Appliance)
oEnterprise Content/Document Management Systems
oA variety of tools to ensure code quality (Continuous Integration servers, Test Coverage tools, etc.)
oService Oriented Architectures (XML, SOAP, etc.)
oLinux/UNIX usage and basic system administration
oWeb APIs such as Flick, Google Maps, Facebook, Disqus, etc.
oKnowledge of CSS and web design
Travel Requirements:
70%+ Travel may be required
