Site development for Sound Arts - a recording studio and education facility | Sound Arts

Hey Drupal Gurus,

I am sending this out in hopes to find the perfect partner to develop our new site. Ideally, we would like to work with someone in the San Francisco, Bay Area who is skilled drupal developer and excited to help turn a cool recording studio into a REALLY cool recording studio and community with an awesome web 2.0 site. It would be especially awesome if your were also interested in some form of trade for top notch recording services or classes in audio production, recording, or electronics interface design.

Once you're in, take a look around and see what's going on...(no homepage & not much yet of course) but, behind the scenes is a bunch of stuff that is in development. I've done all the work myself in Drupal 6 and will continue to manage all admin privileges and site functionality as it moves forward. We are really looking for a combination of general guidance/best practices with things like taxonomy, tokens and actions, SEO and throttle, as well as some specific developments with areas like the calendar, store functionality, and email marketing.

The site functions to do the following things:
- Book studio time
- Register for a class (private classes will be scheduled after money has been received, group workshops are date dependent)
- Provide an easy to use and update book of class curriculum and educational resources
- Purchase/download music and software/plugins
- Provide clients with their own page (hidden from visitors) to exchange files and catalog notes on active and archived projects
- Provide each of our sponsors and partners with an easy to update page/feed to advertise our affiliation and their products/services
- List news and events going on at the studio and within the community in a blog
- Provide tools to track user traffic, notify subscribers, users and groups of specials and monthly newsletters
- Sell adds

The site consists of three main areas: Studio, Education, Community

The Studio section includes information about our facilities, services, mission statement, faq's, and music that can be played for free from the site or purchased for download. This section will include:
- Information/About page(s)
- Services Page embedded with 2 products. A $250 "deposit to reserve the studio" and a "pay remaining balance" (amount will vary - user defined)
- A media gallery designed to catalog and display all media on the site (images, audio files, and videos from nodes, profiles, and products)
- Policies page

The Education section is the collection of all our classes and resources. It should feature a block listing all the teachers and the following:
- Information/About page(s) for the certificate program and for the section as a whole
- Certificate page with packaged product kits
- Group Workshop page with all the listings of group classes as well as a calendar with scheduled workshops
- Private Instruction page with a list of our featured one-on-one classes
- Resources section with the class curriculum, class evaluations and potentially a student forum (perhaps down the road)

The Community section is essentially our blog and user profile area with a directory of people and partner businesses, sortable by various criteria like name, role, or recent post. Specifically, this section will include:
- Directory of people involved in the studio (some user types, not all, will be listed here)
- Directory of sponsors and sponsor/partner pages
- News and Events blog

We will also feature ads (maybe in the footer) on all pages and a top level link to the store, calendar and contact. I have attached several files to that can help describe some of the preexisting setup.

Technical assistance needed with the following:
- I am specifically having trouble designing a method to associate products and dates in a way that allows us to have a single class (product) that is listed several times throughout the year, can be purchased from the calendar page, and lists scheduled dates on the product page. (probably a Views thing)
- Ideally these classes would also sync to our education google calendar: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=soundarts.info%40gmail.com&ctz...
- Classes need to link to their respective curriculum pages (node reference)
- Gallery needs to be built (JQuery and Lightbox maybe)
- Music player needs to be created and should restrict downloading without purchase
- Newsletter tools need to be implemented. (SimpleNews) installed, but not configured. we need to be able to create monthly newsletters and see who opened them but we dont want to sign up for a paid service like verticle response or constant contact, but would like to do it via drupal instead.
- Facebook connect with profile feeds and event feeds
- Secondary menus as sub items of the primary menus to display as a line of buttons instead of a dropdown.
- Flash node integration for front page and as an embedded block for some top level pages.

Where do we go from here?
This may sound like a bunch, but most of it is already partly developed.
Please let me know if these things are within your capabilities and if you can provide a rough estimate of time and cost to create the missing components. If you would like to login as an admin to see what's going on behind the scenes, i would be happy to let you in, but we must first discuss the bigger picture, cost, turnaround time, etc.
