We're looking to hire one or two Drupal 6.x experts, possibly already working together as a team, to work under contract for a high-visibility project. We need

  • a Drupal theming / UI expert and
  • a Drupal module developer / integrator

with proven, real-world experience.

This project is ready to begin immediately, and will require at least 3 weeks of at least half-time and possibly full time work in a temporary contract position. Possible option for future full-time employment, but this is not a requirement. We strongly prefer local (Vancouver-based) candidates, but are open to queries from experienced telecommuters.

We're looking for experts who bring extensive expertise across either or both of these areas:

    Themer / UI Expert
  • Drupal Theme Development
  • CSS
  • JQuery and/or JavaScript
  • Cross-browser, multi-OS compatibility
    Application Developer
  • Drupal-based Application Development (not static websites)
  • Drupal Module development
  • PHP
  • Drupal-based geolocation of users and nodes (GeoNames, Location, GMap, etc.)
  • Proximity search optimization
  • Organic Groups and related modules
  • Social networking modules

About the project
We're developing an extensive Drupal-based web application (not just a blog or CMS-based site), with geolocation, database, and social networking features targeted at a large and broad audience. Development is already well underway. We now need some additional work -- and expertise -- in the following areas:

  • Additions and refinements to existing custom theme
  • Creating themed Add/Edit pages to match existing custom-themed data-display nodes
  • Custom JQuery/Javascript interactions for a smoother user experience
  • Support for easier data entry and data validation, including dependencies between checkboxes and other fields during data entry

  • Support for duplicate data detection and prevention (likely via a custom module and/or Javascript)
  • Optimization of proximity search using GeoNames, Location and GMap modules (or via other means)
  • Refining the display of geolocated search results on a map and in a list, using GMap
  • Extension of Organic Groups functionality
  • Integration of additional social networking features (e.g. Friendlist or User Relationships, Heartbeat, Facebook Connect, etc.)
