Corvallis meeting?
I went up to the monthly Portland Drupal User Group meeting last Wednesday, and it was great. I got to meet some really knowledgeable people and learn more about the Drupal community. I'm new to Drupal and I found the few hours I spent at this meeting as helpful as many hours reading stuff online.
I live in Corvallis, and I would love to have something like that happen here in the mid valley. Is anyone interested in having an informal meeting somewhere in Corvallis next month? I will be out of town until April 1st, but could meet any time after that. We could just meet at a bar or restaurant here in town.
Do I have any takers?

I'm up for it.
There were several drupal meetups at beaver barcamp last weekend. Just a few people attending in the two I went to though. OSU very much supports drupal. Also, we could have a subgroup at Corvallis Beer and Blog. http://corvallis.beerandblog.com/ or I'd be up for a separate user group.
Another idea is we could carpool up to portland every once in a while.

BarCamp, beer and blog
Hi Paul,
I think I met you at Beaver BarCamp last weekend. We talked about the mixup with two different Drupal-related sessions getting lumped together. I ended up doing a session on Drupal and social media websites. A few people came to the session and made suggestions that were similar to your suggestion: present a program on Drupal at another local tech group like Beer and Blog or the Corvallis Linux users group. That may be a way to get things with a local group up and running. I am also interested in putting together a group around software development and web development in general too.
FYI, if you would like to go up to Portland on Wednesday for their monthly meeting, there is someone else who was interested in carpooling. Unfortunately, I can't make it this month. See http://groups.drupal.org/node/20592
Thanks,
Nick
Yes, we met.
I tried to hijack your session, though it was a case of mistaken identity.
For some reason I can't read http://groups.drupal.org/node/20592 . It gives me "Access Denied. You are not authorized to access this page.," even though I'm logged in to groups.drupal.org. Anyway, glad you're drumming up interest, Nick. Not sure if I want to go up to Portland this Wed. Maybe. If not, I'll be at Beer & Blog.
