I pride myself on keeping current on Drupal news and especially on new Drupal modules. One way I do that is I read alot of RSS feeds daily. Every morning when I sit down to begin my day I start with reading my aggregated feeds on my website - http://www.hofmockel.org/aggregator/categories

Here is an export of my aggregator_feed table (Just the Drupal related ones). Of course you could just read it directly on my site if you like. But if you only read one make it the "New Module" list on Drupal.org - http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/14/0

When I got the books for our one year party I was really struck by the desire to create a group library. I was then overwhelmed with the idea of having to continually track the books and make sure they are returned. Then Stephen reminded me that there is a perfectly good method for this already, the Ann Arbor District Library. Some of you may remember the talk that Eli gave to the group on the Libraries implementation of Drupal. What a awesomely perfect circle! And a quick search of the library catalogue shows no Drupal books. Every library should have Drupal books!

Start:
2007-11-26 19:00 Etc/GMT-4 - 2007-11-26 21:00 Etc/GMT-4

Our next meeting will address the question, "Taxonomy - What is it and what can it do for me?"

I know our last meeting was just two nights ago. But it is clearly time for a discussion on taxonomy. Let's see if we can't get a discussion going before the meeting and set ourselves up to delve deep into taxonomy at our next meeting.

For simplicity sake, Ontology and Taxonomy are the same thing.

For those of us present last night for Michael's talk on Themeing... Saw this post http://groups.drupal.org/node/5804 and noted that it had a link to the free, downloadable chapter of the Pro Drupal Development book we discussed. Perhaps more importantly, there is a free online class/seminar you can sign up for on themeing taught by the author...

Converting html/css web design to Drupal PHPTemplate theme.
Another example following the formula from Chapte 8 (The Theme System) from the "Pro Drupal Development" book.

Open Source Web Design - http://www.oswd.org/

Kinda Cloudy - http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/3158

  • Renamed index.html to page.tpl.php
  • install theme in sites/test_site/themes/Kinda_Cloudy
  • enable theme in admin

Every page is now the same and we are locked out of admin
CSS does not load yet
