OK Gang,
It's been a while. Those of us who went to DrupalCon have surely recovered by now. So lets get together and do what we do best; Talk Drupal!
1] Who wants to do pizza? So far we've had always had enough and collected enough from the partakers to cover the cost. Do we want to do that again?
2] Use this thread to speak up and tell us what you want to accomplish at the next meeting. It seems that we have a very wide range of talents and experience in the group. It is getting difficult to deliver the code level and server level content to some while also covering the Drupal modules and configurations to others. I have been in communications with other group leaders and it turns out that this is a common issue.
The sky's the limit here, folks.
Reply to this post and we'll make this next meeting a free-for-all if need be. We can cover CCK+VIEWS in one corner and SVN in the other, or maybe Taxonomy or Drupal-SEO or whatever.
Bottom line... We can either have 2 presenters cover a fixed amount of info OR break up into smaller groups. You let me know which sounds good.
Replies to this thread should look something like this.
I want to learn Such&Such and I'm willing to share Such&Such
Then people can respond to your thread and express interest [or not] in what you are offereing. Likewise, they can offer [or not] to share on the topic you wish to learn about.
This is an awesome chance for beginners to walk away and no longer be beginners, for intermediates to step up, and for advanced cats to dig deeper in some server or web applications knowledge.
I'll just sit back and watch this thread and see what comes of it.
We definitely need to have a Drupal HackFest in May..

Looking forward to the meeting
I'm new to Drupal and just rebuilt my personal and consulting sites with Drupal a little over a month ago. Both of which are still very much a work in progress. I'm just looking forward to meeting other Drupal users in Indy and interested in knowing how everyone is using Drupal (business, personal, development, etc.) I'm a self-employed Linux and Open Source IT consultant and hope, to one day, offer Drupal as a service.
Was it mentioned where the meeting will be held? I may have missed that.
I'm definitely up for pizza!

+1 JQuery
I like the idea of sharing some use of jquery to improve usability. I just did a little JQuery effect myself and after hours of research, it turned out to be kind of easy. I'd be happy to share what I learned.

++1 JQuery
I'd love to learn some more about JQuery.
To this post I have attached a PDF that Aaron and I received from one of the Lullabot.com workshops that we attended.
It serves as an excellent intro to JQuery.
If you want to play around with JQuery do the following:
Swap the fadeIn with a slideUp or a slideDown or a hide and have some more fun!
If you're having any difficulty getting jquerify to add JQuery scripts to non-Drupal sites, then simply go to drupal.org (Or your own personal Drupal site) and open your FireBug console there and test out your JQuery on the elements that you find there.
I look forward to learning / sharing some JQuery at the next meeting!
And be sure to enjoy the attached PDF...

Hey everyone not sure if you all are aware of this calendar but it is created as a place to put meetups for Indianapolis hackers. I have added our meeting and hopefully upcoming meetings to it as well.

map link on our event
Seth-
Is there any control over the "map" link on the post on the indyhackers.org site? It does not accurately show where our office is. Or maybe in the description you can send people here where we have driving directions posted.
Becky
I've edited with a link back
I've edited with a link back here for correct directions...don't want any lost drupalers.

I have space
Hey Doug,
I know that I'm new to the group and people don't know me from squat, but I have lots of hosting space. We could create a page on my site for posting information about our meetings, if you'd like. I'm very new to Drupal and won't be able to help, much, with instructional stuff at the meetings. I would, however, like to help out any way I can.

Exciting jQuery Discussions Ahead
Hey all...
I just completed a "gallery" of sorts for our company website using the AJAX capabilities of jQuery: http://www.haanmc.com/haanfolio
I would love to share how I accomplished all of this functionality in about 2 hours with 20ish lines of code. jQuery is near and dear to my heart.
As always... ++++++1 for pizza.
Anyone out there willing to do a quick tutorial for me on how to create a bash script? I'm getting used to wget and ssh and vim... but I'm not sure how to put commands together and run them as an executable script from the command line.
Josh
bash
Hey Josh,
Here's a couple of sites that have helped me with bash scripting in the past. Once you learn the command line and, more specifically, bash, you'll see how powerful it can be.

Directions to gig
We will gather around 6pm but meeting will start a little later so don't speed and get a ticket!
From the interstate: You Can NOT use GoogleMaps OR MapQuest for Directions. It sends you no where.
Take I-465 to the Michigan Road exit (#27)
Turn north at the end of the exit
Turn left at 96th Street (stoplight with McDonalds and car dealerships on corners)
Continue West on 96th Street about a mile
Turn right into Hoosier Village (well marked with lights and signs)
Turn left at the first road (will be before the first stop sign)
Building is slightly off that road, on the right hand side (north side of the street)
Building is two-story, stone building. Sign in front says IAHSA and PC.
Conference room is on the first floor, to the right in the first hallway.
[We will post signs in the Hoosier Village complex.]
jQuery Slides
Here are the slides from my presentation.
