I'm looking for a developer in the UK Midlands to work on a very part-time but ongoing basis to help develop and maintain a web app for the accounting industry.
The app has only one competitor and that product is so expensive that it's beyond the reach of most smaller accountant businesses, of which there are thousands in the UK. Most accountants use this kind of tool but on a spreadsheet. So, the app is a web version of a spreadsheet that can be provided.
My colleague, who is an accountant has worked for the competition and I've worked for one of their clients. We've done our research and believe that there is great latent demand for this app at a more affordable price.
There is great scope for building an ongoing (almost) residual income from this since the clients will be paying on an annual or monthly basis.
Even better still is that there is plenty of potential for marketing such a software to other industries.
Now, herein lies the rub: we can't pay you for building the software. However, we can give you a shareholding in the product and all profits that it generates for as long as you choose to be involved.
I know it's a cheek asking for someone to work for free up-front, but we want to get the product out there and get it earning.
