Web Programmer, Loyola University New Orleans - Office of Web Communications

Summary of Position: Reviews, analyzes, develops and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within website design, development and applications using Drupal, PHP and MySQL. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired; minimum 2-3 years working with PHP and MySQL; ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications; good working knowledge of standards-based web development using CSS, Drupal CMS, HTML and Javascript; experience using the Macromedia/Adobe Studio for Web Design and Programming; ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications; ability to communicate with and interpret the operational requirements of end users; ability to multi-task, set and meet project deadlines; expertise in current Internet accessibility standards, including 508C compliance and CSS web standards; uphold and promote Loyola’s mission and values in daily responsibilities and interactions. Critical and creative thinking are essential. Additional preferred qualifications include: Attention to detail; solid oral and written communication skills. Must play well with others. A love of jazz fest and crawfish is nice but not required.
