We are currently looking for an experienced Drupal & Web Developer (individual or small team) to work on an eCommerce and Community site. This is an opportunity to work on a very interesting idea mixing art, community and technology. The site is currently in stealth mode and we are looking for additional freelance programmers to help with the upcoming beta launch.
The applicants should have proven and extensive experience with the following:
• Strong knowledge of website coding and design best practices for eCommerce and social leveraging open source frameworks
• Strong experience implementing and maintaining Drupal sites with a thorough understanding of plug-ins, extensions and themes
• Expertise with PHP/MySQL a must
• Expert understanding of web technologies (object-oriented JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS), and experience with the latest and greatest web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with ImageMagick and ApacheSolr/Lucene a strong plus
• Strong scripting experience in cross-browser standards
• Experience working with and maintaining LAMP
• Strong understanding of web architecture that foster modularity, layering, and reusability of templates
• Strong eye for UI and visual design
• Knowledge of SEO best practices to optimize search ranking and organic traffic
• Smart, mature, independent, self-starter, no micro-management
• Excellent communication skills

This is a contract/freelance opportunity. You must be local, living in the Bay Area and available to check in locally and in person every once in a while in San Francisco. No overseas contractors please.
