Advice on best way to serve Audio Files (MP3 etc) - Linux Box

Hi

I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice or experience with using small/short audio files in their websites?

I'm intending on placing the odd audio clip into a survey to test advertising effectiveness. The audio clip will be short, around 30 seconds and the survey might be hit by a 1000 users over the period (with the possibility of up to 300 users accessing the survey - and the resulting audio file - at anyone time (depending on when they hit the server).

How to identify if a user has 'clicked' the edit tab of an entity (as opposed to the view tab/page)?

Hi everyone

I've looked everywhere and cannot appear to find an answer to a problem I have and was hoping that someone might be able to advise.

To cut a long story short Profile2 permissions do not appear to be working properly whereby if you want a certain profile to exclude an authenticated user from being able to 'edit' the profile and only 'view' this is not possible (basically permissions only appear to work for Admin) - [for those that are interested please see http://drupal.org/node/1954290]

Is it possible to hide parts of a returning URL from the users address bar?

I'm not sure if I'm asking the impossible here but is it possible to hide part of a returning URL from a User's address bar to a Drupal site.

The reason I am asking is that I am firing a Rule on a user returning to a particular URL (which they will have been automatically redirected to from another non-Drupal website) which assigns them user points. Obviously I don't want people to cotton onto this URL that is firing the points Rule, otherwise they might tell other users to visit the pages to receive points hence the original question, is there a way to hide part of this URL?

A daytime meetup?

Hello!

It's no secret that we're long overdue a Drupal meetup in the West Midlands, I really want to be able to find a suitable, stable venue, if nothing else than to remove the pressure from me having to do much month-to-month organisation.

I'm busy, you're busy, we're all busy, so I want some feedback on an idea: Having meetups in 'work hours', rather than evenings.

Is it possible to pre-populate an empty field (of any type) with data?

I've been stuck on this issue all day now. Is there a way to pre-populate an 'empty' field of any type with data?

I've tried Rules, specifically 'Set a data value' but it does not appear to allow data values to be set on empty fields and usually reports back (in 'Recent Log Messages') 'The variable or parameter entity is empty'.

The reason I need this is that I have a 'profile type' (using Profile2) with various fields. These fields are updated - when required - using VBO (Views Bulk Operations) and unfortunately they can only be updated by VBO if the fields have existing content.

How can I easily and frequently distribute links to URL's so only selected users can view the link?

I have a site where I need to frequently send URL links to select users at any given time. These links are to surveys, so essentially the survey link at the time can only be passed to users that fit/screen to the requirement.

At the moment I have a View where I can easily screen the users using exposed filters but cannot work out how to send these users the specific URL link? Additionally, after any given time the URL link will become redundant so I then need to be able to remove the link for their View when this happens (I don't want them to see expired links).

Help finding a freelance drupal dev

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the best place to post, however I'm trying to find a freelance Drupal Developer to extend an existing site's capabilities for a friend of mine. This ecommerce site has been up and running for approx 5 years and uses Ubercart 2 as the ecommerce platform and Drupal 6 for product management. Ideally he would like someone base in the S-on-T/Staffs area.

This is not really a defined job as such (yet) more an opportunity, hence not posting in the Jobs section, but again sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
