Duties and Expectations
Collaborate with customers to design and implement web applications;
Install and configure Drupal and MySQL in a Linux environment for high-performance web sites;
Write programs to interact with Drupal for reporting, querying, content manipulation, retrieving and loading syndicated content, and other purposes;
Integrate commenting, rating, and other social networking features into Drupal sites;
Extend Drupal by developing custom modules or installation of third-party modules;
Performs analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and post-production support for web applications;
Generates necessary documentation per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) including design documents and implementation plan
Coordinates testing and validation activities with the Software Quality Assurance and Validation teams;
Diagnoses and correct problems in the production environment;
Closely follows strict code promotion procedures;
Provides frequent status updates regarding work progress, needs, and risks as they arise;
Researches and selects alternative modules or technologies to meet business requirements as necessary.
Skills and Experience Required
Extensive experience with Drupal, LAMP, Zend Framework, and jQuery
Strong understanding of user experience concepts - including layout, typography, color, animation
Familiarity with Web 2.0 design patterns and UI toolkits
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture concepts
Experience using a revision control system such as GIT/CVS/SVN
Experience with enterprise-scale Drupal implementations (including back-end architecture)
Experience working with Solr search engine
Experience representing abstract concepts visually with workflows, wireframes, site maps, concept diagrams
Web application design and architecture experience will be required
Experience designing and delivering web services is desired
Creativity and flexibility will be required to solve design and architectural challenges
