Verve Internet Solutions (www.verveinternet.com) is a full-service Internet communications firm with a 13-year track record serving the needs of nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. The firm is based in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, PA.
Verve’s mission is to leverage the power of online tools to help our clients meet their missions more effectively. Verve is utilizing Drupal CMS and CiviCRM to create customized database-driven websites and online solutions. The Drupal Web Developer will be involved in custom web development projects for our clients.

Effective interaction and coordination with the project team is critical for project success. The candidate should have a strong understanding and experience of web development using PHP, Drupal, MySQL, web system architecture, software development life cycle and best practices.

The opening is for immediate hire – we offer full-time employment. Full-time salary is based on experience. Work schedule is 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday on-site at our offices in Philadelphia, PA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Production and development of websites in varied structural layouts within the Drupal CMS frame work.
• Create templates, themes and custom modules for Drupal CMS.
• Setup and configuration of new Drupal installations and module configuration.
• Implement and integrate custom Drupal modules to existing PHP web applications.
• Support existing code while upgrading to new versions of DRUPAL as needed.
• Maintain existing web sites and Drupal implementations.
• Performing ongoing support and some system administration.
• Reacting to issues as they arise to ensure high availability of our client’s websites.
• Enhancing and improving existing websites with a focus on robust design and scalable architecture.
• Assist in determining appropriate architecture and other technical solutions.

Requirements:
• BA/BS with 5 years experience in a team based software development environment.
• Experience developing websites with Drupal 5 or 6.
• Experience in CiviCRM a major plus.
• Experience working with PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX, and HTML/CSS.
• In depth knowledge of Drupal 5/6 modules, Drupal Module Development, and Drupal Themes.
• Ability to quickly conceptualize and execute project to specifications on time and under budget.
• Working knowledge of best practices and industry-accepted web standards.
• Familiarity with cross platform and cross-browser (IE, Firefox, Windows, Macintosh, etc.) compatibility issues;
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• High attention to detail, and ability to work well independently with direction from others.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly is a must.
