Private personal content, Private OG Content and buddies

I have run into a wall. I think I have all the modules to do what I need, but haven't a clue how to go about doing it. Let me explain what I am trying to do:

I have a network for a camp which has 4 divisions. Each division is supposed to be private from one another. I have private Organic Groups to accomplish this, which works great. Example content which can be posted in the OGs are photo galleries, single images, polls, videos, group forums, etc.

I also want each user to be able to post their own content, not in the organic group, but as personal content. So users would be able to create their own galleries, images, polls, videos, etc. (but not forums). I want all their content to be private by default, and I want them to allow their content to made public to their buddies, and this is where I am stuck. Ideally, there would be a tab in the user's profile for user's content, which only buddies can see.

I have handshake, nodeaccess control both installed, but I can't configure them to do as I wish. Can someone please walk me through this?
