We have a full-time Wordpress Developer position in Washington DC supporting a federal government agency.
Due to the nature of this position, the candidate must be a US citizen and is willing to go through background investigations to obtain a security clearance.
As a lead consultant, the candidate must be well versed in PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript, and should be comfortable to both front- and back-end development. For example, custom plugin development, theme development, content management, and bug fixes are likely among what will be asked to do.
Experience with Wordpress is a BIG plus but not required as long as you have worked with other CMS systems.
Experience with a JavaScript framework, such as jQuery or YUI, is desirable.
Experience with Object-Oriented Programming is a must.
Experience with a design pattern, such as MVC, is very helpful.
Some experience in Linux, system administration, apache, and security is a definite plus.
